Word for 2012

It has been a lovely Christmas season!  I have spent the greater part of a day and a half in rest and contemplation.  I have missed writing and visited my journal in an effort to choose a word of the year.  For those unfamiliar with that concept, here is a great link:  http://christinekane.com/blog/resolution-revolution-a-better-way-to-start-your-year/  basically you choose a word for the year rather than make a list of resolutions that never stick.  This is the fifth year of choosing one word to define my year and I find that it works for me.  After much contemplation and five journal pages I have chosen (or rather I believe the word chose me)  Exploration!  A theme that kept cropping up was fun, joy, openess, adventure and exploration.
I am always trying to improve myself with some success...now I think it is time to explore new places, new paths to creativity, spirituality and yes JOY and FUN.  Often I have to talk myself into doing something...once on a certain path I am certainly happy I chose it...however it is a painstaking decision too frequently.

So I fondly (or not so much) say good-bye to 2011 and embrace the New Year with Exploration in my heart.  Several health issues and foot problems have delayed a few goals...I fully intend to explore wellness and step into my dream of climbing a portion of Mt. Ranier (for my brother) traveling to Italy and to whatever new opportunities beckon me!

I wish each of you a fabulous 2012!  Happy New Year Darlings!

Christmas Day has flown past. Just now I have a quiet moment between bouts of after-Christmas sale shopping. I wanted to stop by and wish you all the joys of the season. As the quiet week approaches, may you find time to do all the things you most love. May you know, each day, how very blessed and loved you are. Happy Holidays, friend. ~ Relyn

I've tried doing this but always seem to loose my focus on it.
Here's to you exploring many new (and old) places both physically and mentally!

I'm still working on finding just the perfect word! Can't seem to focus on just one. Hmmm, maybe FOCUS should be my word!

LOVE your new word! I always look forward to finding out what mountain you are conquering each new year. I've almost decided on my word, but not quite yet. BTW, we need to chat sometime!!!

Exploration is a beautiful word. I call myself a wondering wanderer. Happy exploring in the coming year. Cheers.

I absolutely adore the idea of a word instead of making traditional resolutions. Thanks to you for putting it out there I have done it myself for the past 2 years and plan on doing it for 2012.

ahhhh Sistah Connie! Good Word! Mine is JOY this year...I just sat down to write it and found your post! Wonder how many of us do this same practice? (I started last year with GROW...unbidden -er- consequences...) Switched to PEACE in the Spring. I know your explorations will be filled with delight! You are just that kind of girl! Happiness in 2012 to you and all you love! Lisa (PS graterad is the word verification word in the box and i am so tickled by it...GRATERAD! Sounds Dutch! Gonna try to sprinkle my conversations with that. See if it takes off!)
