So, Sew
A silly little tale for sure...many of you know I suffer from bouts of insomnia. During one of those sleepless, let me see what is on the boob tube at 3 a.m. moments I purchased a sewing machine. She who hasn't "sewn" in a very long time. (baby stuff circa 1981 - 1984) The sewing machine, at least I assumed it was a sewing machine stayed in the box in the home office for probably 3 months at which time I thought I should make sure I had indeed purchased a sewing machine...breathe...establishing that it was in fact a sewing machine it went back into closet sans boxes. Fast forward to the present day and time...I have an obsession...I adore quilts... I now wish to make a quilt or ten. The fabric is purchased, the sewing machine is "set up" and I must learn how to operate the computerized version! We won't discuss how much time was spent ogling and touching fabric or thinking about quilt patterns. I plan things very well...it is the starting and finishing that is problematic for this lifelong procrastinator. I am pretty sure I suffer from an adult attention deficit disorder or a scattered memory disorder. I may start something in one room and go to another room for an item and get started on something else and remember there is a project going on in the other room...you see it is Monday already.
Wish me lots o luck. I will be under or around a pile of fabrics and lots of delicious sewing implements!

Good Luck! Hope to see pictures of your progress ;o)
My mother was a wonderful seamstress, and she made mostly dresses and curtains. In fact, there's an adorable picture of me (ha ha) when I was around two years old, and my dress is one that she made entirely by hand. That was in the day before she had a sewing machine. One of the things she told me before she died was that she was disappointed that I hadn't taught my daughters how to sew.
YAY! happy quilting.
Hi Connie!
Thanks for popping over to my blog, saying 'hi' and joining in on my give-a-way fun! How lovely!
And how funny that you are speaking of insomnia as I too suffer from bouts of it as well. Dare I say 'age' has a bit to do with it? At least that's what I like to blame it on. ;)
I have been awake since 12:38 a.m. and on the computer since about 1:20 a.m. It is now after 4 a.m. and I know there is no point going to sleep now. I will make myself another mug of tea and then read some more of your blog! :)
Happy Thursday!
Catherine
Okay, how many quilts have you completed??!
Hahahah - you and I would make such a crazy team. My sewing machine also needs to be dusted off. Last time I used it was just before Christmas, to make some quickie curtains. I still have fabric and a pattern in a bag for a dress for Maddie - which likely will have to be for Georgia by the time I get round to it!
But I am so glad to have it. Many thanks to the Borgata!
NOW GO GET SEWING LADY! xoxox
hahaha Dishy...I didn't say I was going to finish them...just that I had the stuff. things have been a little crazy on this end of the world...broke my tv fast and have been watching mindless junk.
